OUR STORY
Following the success of PROTECT’s H.E.R.O. Child-Rescue Corps, led by veterans of the U.S. Special Operations community, CEO J. Christian, a retired Army Ranger, decided to use every asset available to attack the problem of kids coming out of foster care with no place to go. He started with PROTECT’s founder, Grier Weeks, the former director of an agency that developed supported housing for the State of North Carolina. PROTECT then began assembling a National Advisory Group of experts from diverse backgrounds to solve this crisis together.

NATIONAL ADVISORY GROUP

A MODEL FOR THE NATION
New Team/New Mission is developing a transparent and “open source” housing model, which will be freely shared with community groups and nonprofits across the U.S. Key features include:

• Small-scale, eco-friendly housing design and construction
Using panelized wall and roof systems, highly energy efficient houses and duplexes can go up in a day or two. Our teams then mobilize volunteers to help contractors complete the homes, reducing conventional building costs. Companies and individuals can sponsor a wide range of individual elements of each home and be recognized permanently in common areas. Volunteer subcontractors are invited to meet and teach youth about career opportunities while on-site.

• Service-Provider and Community Partnerships
Working with top service providers, we are also bringing together a coordinated package of support to help youth transition to independence. This includes assistance accessing social services and health care, employment, education, rental assistance, and business and financial mentorship.

We are involving youth in every aspect possible of each project, empowering them to help themselves—and other youth. They too will join a team with a mission.

PLEASE JOIN US!
Kids leaving foster care without support desperately need our help. The COVID pandemic is destroying dreams. We’re moving with a sense of urgency, and we need your support.

As we get closer to our first groundbreaking, we’ll need volunteers from all backgrounds: hammer-swingers, gardeners, people in the building trades, artists, and entrepreneurs. We’ll work together on teams from across the U.S.

Right now, we need funds to finish planning and get to the groundbreaking!

Whatever donation you can make – big or small – will make everything that follows possible. Please also consider helping us raise funds from your company, organization, place of worship, or community. We’ll provide you with the information you need. It’s a mission that will enrich your life, and we’ll keep you posted every step of the way!
